What is the KC CUP Tournament Series?

  • This tournament series will highlight the great Warhammer 40k talent we have in Kansas City by collecting Overall scores at GT and Major level events around the metro and determine a winner at the end of each Series.

How will points be determined?

  • We will collect your Overall Scores for Battle, Paint, and Sportsmanship from area GT and Major level events. Each of these scores will be given equal weight to determine your overall ranking for the series. We will take your top 4 combined scores from max 6 Series events and determine your KC Cup score.

How is this different than the ITC or LMC scoring?

  • The KC Cup Series uses all three scores. You can win Best General (Highest Battle Points) at every KC event , but if your paint and sportsmanship scores are not great, then you won’t have a great KC Cup Series score. To WIN the KC CUP you will want to focus on all aspects of the hobby: Generalship, Hobby, and Sportsmanship!

What events are eligible for KC Cup scoring?

Can I still earn ITC and Lord Marshal Conference points if I participate in a KC Cup event?

  • YES! The KC Cup Series events can be part of the ITC and LMC, so you would still earn points in both of these circuits. Check with the Tournament Organizers directly if you have questions on whether they are part of these circuits.

How long is the Series?

  • The Series will run annually from August to July, with the final scores and crowning ceremony being held at the Show Me Showdown in August!

Do I have to be a Kansas City area resident to participate?

  • NOPE! Anyone who plays in one of the KC Cup Series events will be eligible to earn points toward an award!

How can I track my KC Cup Series scores?

Why are my KC Cup Series scores different than what I had for the individual event?

  • Each Tournament Organizer may use a slightly different scoring methodology for their indivual event. Please contact your TO directly for your individual scores.

What awards will be given away?

  • We will award the top prizes to Best Overall, Best Xenos, Best Imperium, and Best Chaos for the Series!

Why are my individual scores for the KC Cup different than my scores for the event I played in?

  • Each event organizer will be scoring their event according to their own rules. KC Cup uses the below calculation to get your KC Cup total

    • Win/Tie/Loss = 50% of your overall score.

    • Paint Score = 40% of your overall score. You will receive a paint score for the event. Each event is using the same paint rubric for the season. Our Paint Rubric can be found HERE

    • Sportsmanship = 10% of your overall score. Be a great sport, get your list in on time, and have fun!
